Tension Technique in the SoundTrack

Sound to picture My very own ‘Tension Technique’.

I propose we use this technique in the hope to make the viewing experience –

MORE OF AN EXPERIENCE!

1. Introduce film with Tired orientated Music,

2. Do not give audience any evidence of sleep deprivation until roughly three quarters of the way through.

Resulting –

· Audience anticipating an explanation for the tired orientated music (they think about tiredness because of the music, but they’re given no further explanation - making them unsettled wanting to know why), making them WANT to watch the rest of the film instead of watching it any other reasons, such as; they’re family,

· it will raise tension,

· and leave them confused

· Benefitting with the film having more appeal, and focus from the Audience.

I'm going to get on the job of making/composing our music.

I want to use something that will remind audience of feeling tired, like dub-step immediately does that job - the large, heavy, metallic, sounds that echo as well in dub step, if you know what I mean,

Also this instrumental would defo work ! But of course I will make something from scratch, if anything,

Hey guys, good work everybody, filming went really well today, we've got plenty of footage to play with in the edit. Will be handing the tapes over to Jon Alsop tomorrow at three, looking forward to seeing the footage, production stills to follow.

Thought this definition could be interesting with tomorrow in mind.

Freeganism is an anti-consumerist lifestyle whereby people employ alternative living strategies based on limited participation in the conventional economy and minimal consumption of resources.

Freegans "embrace community, generosity, social concern, freedom, cooperation, and sharing in opposition to a society based on materialism, moral apathy, competition, conformity, and greed."^[1] The lifestyle involves salvaging discarded, unspoiled food from supermarket dumpsters, known as 'dumpster diving'. Freegans salvage the food for political reasons, rather than out of need.

Ok guys the snow doesn't look like it is going to be clear for tuesday and there is no point risking the journey to leeds. We now have till the 6th of December to hand in the finished film. Hopefully the weather will clear up soon and we can have a large amount of time to play with the post. Will contact you all when I have rescheduled the filming date with Sam.

Looks like the snow isstarting to get heavy, We will have to look at this on sunday/monday and if its still bad reschedule, If worst comes to worst we might have to apply for an extension, however I think this will go through easily as we have good cause.

Hey Guys have spoken with Sam and we are going to film on the 30TH NOV LEAVING SHEFFIELD AT 6PM, Sam seams very enthusiastic about the shoot so hopefully we should get a really good interview. Hats and scarfs as it is going to be a cold night. Also good news Gareth has got a car so we will be driving. Will txt you more details later in the week.

Through the meeting today we have decided to move forward with the Freegan idea. we are looking to shoot at some time in-between the 29th of Nov and the 2nd of Dec. Keep your schedules free I will try to organise the exact date ASAP.

We will be meeting up with a Freegan called Sam. Sam has been a Freegan for a few year and uses bins as his only source of food. The Shoot will take place in Leeds, Gareth is currently trying to find out if he can get a car for the shoot but we may be taking the train.

Third Production Meeting Summary

Hey guys, from the meeting earlier we have come down to the choice between the Night Shift Security Guard idea and the Freegan (People who get their food from supermarket bins). I am going to get in contact with a contact that might help me locate a freegan, Gareth and Ollie are going to try around a few car parks for night working security guards. We will reassess the choices at our next meeting after we have gathered research and looked for interviewees.
